Since 1985 We have offered thousands of guests Alaska's highest quality waterfowl hunt, utilizing only the best in equipment, boats, and decoys. offering Layout boat hunts for Trophy Seaducks and brant, along with large spreads of Silos and socks used on our field and beach spreads for Brant, Emperors, and Aleutian Cacklers and Lessers.

Aleutian Island Waterfowlers owner/Head guide Captain Charles Summerville is the modern-day Pioneer of Trophy Sea duck hunting in Alaska, along with specializing in Emperor Goose, Pacific Brant, and Aleutian Cackler hunting in and around Cold Bay. Captain Charlie and his guides started guiding full time in 1985, specializing in remote Alaska fishing and hunting trips. With over 60 years combined Alaska experience between himself and his highly experienced guides you are assured of a safe enjoyable and successful Waterfowl vacation.

 

We offer 3 different styles of hunting.

1. Offshore and nearshore small boat hunting over decoys for Trophy seaducks,

2. Offshore and inshore layout boat hunting utilizing two-man Core Sound X2 layout boats and single UFO layouts.

3. Full field-spreads of Dive Bombs for Canada geese, Aleutian cacklers, and Brant on the beach.


Hunt Rates:

  • Cold Bay Cast N Blast Self Guided Trips $2995pp. Self guided trip. Deluxe lodging, meals, decoys, transportation, airport transfers, hunt maps, and 1 day guided introduction to the area and techniques. Saturday-Saturday

  • Cold Bay Cast N Blast Guided Trips $4500pp. Fully guided and outfitted hunts. Deluxe lodging, meals, guides, boats, decoys, hunt video, bird preparation, tagging, freezing, and airport transfers included. Saturday-Saturday

  • Cold Bay Trophy Seaduck Guided Hunts $5600pp. Fully guided and outfitted hunts. Deluxe lodging, meals, guides, layout boats, decoys, hunt video, bird preparation, tagging, freezing, and airport transfers included. Saturday-Saturday

  • St Paul Island Trophy King Eider Guided Hunts $5600pp. Fully guided and outfitted hunts. Lodging, meals, guides, boats, decoys, hunt video, bird preparation, tagging, freezing, and airport transfers included.

Hunt Style & Common species targeted:

Early season Cast-N-Blast consists of primarily Pacific Black Brant, Aleutian Cacklers, and lesser Canadas, with puddle ducks and Salmon fishing thrown in.

Cold Bay Trophy Seaduck hunts target Pacific Eiders, Emperor Geese, Pacific Brant, Harlequin, Longtails, Whitewing & Common Scoters, Aleutian Teal, Bufflehead, Ptarmigan, Red-breasted Mergansers, and Goldeneyes.

St Paul Hunts primarily harvest King Eiders, Harlequin, and Long Tails with a few incidental scoters thrown in.

Closest Airport and the time it takes to travel to/from:

Cold Bay Airport for all Cold Bay Hunts traveling time 1.5 hours from Anchorage on AK Air.

We provide all airport transfers in Anchorage and your final destination if following our booking instructions.

Lodging/Accommodations:

Private Lodging Provided, Meals Provided, Bird Cleaning

All lodging, meals, and airport transfers are included in Cold Bay and ST Paul hunts, except 1-night lodging the night before your hunt starts, in Anchorage at the Lakefront Millennium hotel is required and not included in the price .

What to bring:

  • 1 Waterproof insulated Parka-Grey or grey cover shell for all seaduck hunting
    1 Pair insulated waders
    2 Pair Fleece wader pants
    2 Pair long underwear
    2 Pair heavy hunting socks
    2 Pair light socks
    1 Pair crocks/slippers -house shoes
    1 Pair warm hunting boots
    1 Pair heavy hunting gloves
    1 Pair light shooting gloves
    1 Face mask
    2 Heavy hunting shirts 2 light shirts for layers
    1 Gun cleaning kit and liquid gun oil, no aerosols
    1 Medium collapsible cooler as your carryon for transporting game home

  • 3- boxes Hevishot/Hevisteel #4 and 2 boxes #4 or-#6 Tungsten for Pacific Eiders

  • One headlamp

*Very Important - Do not bring extra traveling clothes, suit jackets, or non-essential items as space is limited on flights and our lodge is very casual.

When getting dressed in the morning in Anchorage at your hotel, leave your street clothes and shoes in the storage area at the hotel as you do not need them in Cold Bay. You should travel in warm hunting clothes while wearing your parka and warm boots as well as gloves and warm hats in case of a weather delay along the way, as it is winter and space is limited. It is also a best practice to do so in the case that one of your bags gets lost or bumped due to any reason.

Carry on any medications or essential items you need for the week as occasionally the airlines can bump or temporarily have luggage delayed, due to weight and balance issues.

Waterfowl Daily and Bag Limits:

  • Yearly Seaduck limits 20pp

  • No more than 4 of any one species

  • Pacific Brant 2 per day/3 day possession limit

  • 7 per day total combined seaducks, and/or 7 per day combined dark geese if available

Terms: Hunts 0-12 months out 50% deposit, 50% balance paid in full 60 days prior to the hunt.

Hunts booked 12-36 months out $1500 deposit, another $1500 due at 12 months with the balance due 60 days prior to arrival.


All hunt deposits are 100% nonrefundable but you can replace a hunter with someone else at no charge.

We accept CC over the phone, or checks sent to our winter sales office.


No Minimum hunters needed, singles are fine. Capacity as follows:

Groups up to 8 hunters for Cold Bay

Groups up to 10 for St Paul.

  • $500 military or active LEO discounts

  • 10% off if booking the entire lodge (8 or 10 hunters)

Cold Bay non-hunter fees $2500pp
ST Paul non-hunters not allowed, except film crews at $3000pp

Lodge/Guide gratuities $400-600pp per week

Purchase small game licenses and stamps, hotel, meals, round-trip air travel, and trip insurance at your home before arriving at Cold Bay.

Dog/Retriever Policy: Hunters are allowed to bring dogs only during the Cast-N-Blast Early season Sept 1-Oct 23 for Brant/Geese and Puddle ducks. All other hunts are closed to hunters bringing dogs.
